Ballajura Primary School: Early Childhood Unit: Details

Working in conjunction with Paterson Group Architects the scope for this project included the demolition of existing structures to make way for construction of two new classroom blocks (Block P and K), and external works including a 14-bay carpark for staff, parents

and visitors, a playground area, boundary fencing and new bike paths.

A staggered approach was adopted for the construction works, to provide a consistent with each trade, resulting in trades being engaged in the works and 'on-site' and reduced the risk of delays to the program.

Block P included two general learning areas, kitchen, general access amenities, collegiate room, cleaners stall all of which was framed by an outdoor veranda providing staff and students with an undercover walkway.

Block K included a new kitchen and two open plan learning areas, general access amenities in compliance with universal codes and a cleaner’s stall. External works for this project began with the relocation and update of the playground area to include boundary

fencing and new bike paths for the children to enjoy.
