BE PROJECTS NEWS It finally made it, winter, that is! After an extremely dry start to our winter we have well and truly enjoyed significant rainfall in the later half of winter. With winter may come a suitable time to reflect inward and work on more internal tasks rather then being out in the elements. Construction carries on, concurrently with this, we here at BE Projects have taken the time to reflect and review some of our internal workings. Particularly on our company values. This month the value we have been exploring is “Continual Improvement” and what this means in our day to day work and how we can weave this into our day. With this value I can’t help but think and reflect on Stephen Covey’s 7th and final habit “Sharpen the Saw”, where he shares the story about the woodcutter using a blunt saw to fell a tree. The conversation went something like; The young man to the woodcutter; “You look exhausted! Take a break. Sharpen your saw.” The woodcutter explained to the young man that he had been sawing for hours and did not have time to take a break. The young man pushed back… “If you sharpen the saw, you would cut down the tree much faster.” The woodcutter said “I don’t have time to sharpen the saw. Don’t you see I’m too busy?” As you renew and reflect inwardly you create growth and change in your endeavors. What are you working on, in preparation for Spring? Troy King, BE Projects, Director
